Causes of Green Leaves
The leaves look green because of the chlorophyll they contain. Chlorophyll is a part of the leaf that captures sunlight and uses carbon dioxide and water to produce sugar.
When sunlight reflects light from the leaves to your eyes, it absorbs every color of the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple), if green! The leaves do not absorb green color, but are reflected into your eyes and that is why the leaves look green!
Chlorophyll is a green pigment (color substance) found in plant chloroplasts, and is an absolute component of photosynthesis. Most chlorophyll uses the power of red and blue rays, but the green light penetrates or bounces off the leaves and reaches one's eyes. The leaves then look green.
Leaves often look bright green when they are close together with other leaves.
It goes because the light that people observe reflects off the green leaves before reaching the eyes.
